- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter.
- Stir in the baking soda and salt. Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Mix in the flour last. Do not overmix!
- Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool for a few minutes before removing from pan.
