  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir in the melted butter.
  4. Stir in the baking soda and salt. Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Mix in the flour last. Do not overmix!
  6. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before removing from pan.
